The Mackenzie Gas Project will provide many direct and indirect opportunities to the people of the North, as well as other Canadians. We are committed to working with aboriginal and other northern residents to ensure individuals, communities and businesses in the North have an opportunity to participate in the benefits from this Project.

Direct benefits include:

• Employment
• Business opportunities

Indirect economic benefits include:

• Expansion of service, transportation and other industries to support the Project
• Natural gas exploration and development by oil and gas companies

Governments will benefit by collecting royalty payments and taxes.

The Aboriginal Pipeline Group's involvement will support aboriginal participation in project planning, ownership, employment and business opportunities.

We will also require Project contractors and subcontractors to foster business, employment and training for aboriginal and non-aboriginal northerners.
