Maintaining worker and public safety and caring for the environment - before, during and after construction - are our highest priorities.

Imperial Oil, as operator of the proposed Mackenzie Gas Project, believes the safety of all personnel is based on the following principles:

• Incidents and injuries are preventable and should be anticipated (zero tolerance is our continuous objective)
• No business objective is so important that it be pursued or executed at the sacrifice of safety
• A continuous effort is required for incident prevention
• Competent and effective supervision shall be provided and maintained
• Each person associated with the project has a personal responsibilty for his/ her own safety and the safety of others
• A job is well done only if it is done safely
• All safety rules are to be complied with and enforecement will be with firm and consistent actions
• Improved safety results through proactive rather than reactive approaches
