The facilities needed at the Taglu, Parsons Lake and Niglintgak
natural gas fields will be pre-built in modules. The modules
will then be moved by truck and barge to the sites.

Heavy and bulky equipment and supplies from southern locations
will be moved to the Hay River and Fort Simpson areas. This
includes equipment for development drilling, facility construction
and operations. From there, it will be moved by barge down
the Mackenzie River and stockpiled at specially prepared sites.
From the stockpile sites, equipment and supplies will be
moved to the natural gas fields by barge, winter road or air.
Electrical and piping connections to individual modules will
be completed on site.
Most wells at the three natural gas fields will be directionally
drilled from central locations to minimize impact. Drilling
fluids will be contained and disposed of in an approved way.
Materials needed for drilling - such as casing strings, mud
and cement - will be brought in to each natural gas field
as required. The wells at the three natural gas fields will
be designed to minimize effects on permafrost.
