A natural gas liquids facility near Inuvik will be part of the gathering system. It will separate hydrocarbon liquids that are found with the natural gas, such as butane, propane and pentane.

Two pipelines -- a natural gas line and a liquids line -- will extend from a facility near Inuvik to Norman Wells:

1) The proposed Mackenzie Valley Pipeline will carry the natural gas to Alberta.

2) A liquids pipeline will carry the liquids removed from the natural gas to Norman Wells. At Norman Wells, the liquids will enter an existing liquids pipeline and be connected to markets in Alberta.
