On October 7, 2004, Imperial Oil Resources Ventures Limited
(Imperial) submitted to the National Energy Board:
-
an application for a Certificate of Public Convenience
and Necessity for the Mackenzie Valley Pipeline, pursuant
to Part III of the National Energy Board Act
-
an application for authorization of the Mackenzie Gathering
System, pursuant to paragraph 5.(1)(b) of the Canada Oil
and Gas Operations Act
An Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) supporting these
applications was also filed with the Joint Review Panel. Since
filing these applications and the EIS, some changes have been

include:

relocating the Inuvik area facility about 16 km south
-
increasing the length and size of the Storm Hills lateral
-
moving some infrastructure sites to support construction
of the relocated Inuvik area facility
The changes to the Mackenzie Valley pipeline include:
-
increasing
the pipeline design pressure from 18.0 MPa to 18.7 MPa
-
reducing
the number of initial compressor stations from four to three,
while maintaining the capability of the pipeline system of
about 34 Mm3/d (1.2 Bcf/d)
-
shortening the length of the
pipeline by about 26 km and relocating some infrastructure sites
to support construction of the revised facility locations
-
moving some infrastructure sites to support construction
of the relocated compressor stations
